I Passed On In The Sun
In Memory of Andrew Burton Fox, Age 17
I passed on in the sun.
On a warm summer's day.
My life had just begun.
I was just a boy at play.
With starry visions in my eyes.
And distant dreams ahead.
I had no thoughts of leaving you.
No thoughts of words unsaid.
I ask you to forgive me.
For leaving you this way.
It was not my intention.
But it happened anyway.
Please know that I love you.
With fond and happy memories.
There is no other family.
Of which part I'd rather be.
You've shown me what true love is.
Through our struggles and our tears.
And through my faith in God above.
Diminished all my fears.
So with peace I leave you comfort.
Knowing this is not the end.
And please know on that fateful day.
I played with all my friends.
I am not gone forever.
I'm not lost eternally.
Our hearts.they will not sever.
For you're a part of me.
I'm in my Father's mansion.
In peace I now reside.
Someday we shall meet again.
With no more tears to cry.
